Thanks for writing this. As a working mom, self care definitely seems like an agenda item more than actual rest. Taking a bath or doing arts and crafts I’m not interested in is not going to fix everything. I tried to explain this to a therapist at one point, and she just kept giving me ideas like, “you could knit, or color, or whatever…” I’ve been making do with a morning run and trying to read for 30 minutes every night.
